VALERIE GIBSON
Valerie Gibson was born in the U.K. and spent most of her life in Canada where she has received adoration and recognition as a best-selling author, columnist, radio and television personality and public speaker.
When Valerie emigrated to Canada, she obtained her real estate licence as well as certification in interior design and decorating from an intensive three-year Interior Design Course at Humber College.
Valerie and her partner then started a successful and innovative real estate company in the west end of Toronto in 1975, which at that time was the first real estate company in Canada to offer a staging service to vendors who listed with their company. Additionally, Valerie also assisted her purchasers with practical design and decorating help.
Both services were extremely popular and helped make her real estate company one of the most successful high-end real estate companies in Canada.
When Valerie divested her interests in the real estate business, she joined the Toronto Sun, further proving her aptitude for style and design by becoming the newspapers’ fashion editor, then soon after one of the paper’s most popular columnists.
Mother of a disabled daughter, Valerie has championed the rights of mentally and physically challenged young people for 10 years and was on the board of Reach for The Rainbow, a charitable organization that helps disabled children integrate into society. Valerie has won many awards for her various contributions to humanity and the arts.
